I was at the railway yesterday, in the afternoon 45041 shunted the continental stock into platform 3 if that means anything.

4612 on the first train of the day:

Nice to see a bit of international motive power back in action on the NVR. It used to be what it was most famous for

Lovely set. You've captured me and my dog in the Wansford station shot. :) Whilst the Lakes Express headboard may look a tad out of place on a Bulleid, I believe it's from the driver's collection and he likes to give his nameplates an outing from time to time.

Certainly nothing wrong with a headboard on a loco from time to time.

To be fair there are a few lakes at Ferry Meadows, so I think it's allowed.

A few clips from todays 66 Running Day with 66751. Despite the weather it seemed a popular event.

Visited on Sunday for the first weekend of the "Santa Special" services. Looked like a good turnout and the Polish Tank is very impressive. My photos and video from the very enjoyable day are below, thanks to all for their efforts.

Is it meant to be the Polish tank for all the Santas?

Believe the polish tank and 92 Squadron are sharing duties with the Polish tank pencilled in for the first half of the season and Squadron for the second. But where the change over date is I'm not sure.

Each Santa day both locos are in steam with the second kept in light steam in case of failure

Brilliant thanks, want to try and see the Bulleid in colder weather for added smoke effects.

5485 this weekend and next Wednesday, then 34081 for the rest is the plan, with the other in steam as spare. I was hoping for the Pole in a couple of weeks! Oh well.

It's been good to see continental trains (loco+carriages) back on the nvr this year, hopefully we see more next year

Is the Pannier not doing anything over the Santas then?

Doesn’t have the correct control gear to work and air braked train. 34081 and the Polish tank do, hence their use on the Santa train’s.
