Or due to the fact there's a global pandemic and England is in lockdown until at least the week before?

Looks like all of SD's remaining 2020 tours are cancelled according to Railway Herald's railtour page.

    Regards,

    Dan

Would this be due to ORR's tightening up now of non CDL mk1's on the network.

I’m just going to have a blind shot in the dark here... could be wrong, but it could quite possibly, ever so slightly, be something to do with a virus...

It’s been reported in the past that SD have reached out to passengers about their comfort in travelling on their tours and the response shows their common market isn’t to keen to get back out there yet. Travelling in December right off the back of a second lockdown to the majority of Steam Dreams regular audience may still be seen as a bit of a risk.

Sorry, i should have added " apart from the covid situation" to my original post, that plus the reported instance that in future, all main line mk1s that operate over 40 kph, must have automatic, central door locking would have been the final straw, but as you so rightly point out, we are in a second national lock down, so ideally people will be very weary about travelling just after it. especially if the virus is still a factor.

I guess we should compare travelling in a Mk1 coach with plenty of ventilation on a balmy day with a dark ride in an enclosed box with other people and a nice steamy atmosphere.

E-mail from SD this morning about their holiday trips in 2021. The Mayflower excursion to the West Country now has the unusual combination of 45596 & 61306. I thought that this was due to be both of the B1's. Has 61264 been withdrawn from service on the NYMR?

Don't know it she has been withdrawn, but she wasn't used for services this year. Believe they only used this year 926, 825, 92134, J27 and Lambton 29.
