Nice to see some of the more 'out of course' things happening on the railway, so thanks for posting

Today marks the first time in 156 years that the IWR will not have a wagon on it somewhere. Passed one of the match wagons going down the hill in Lake on the back of a truck.

Amazing when you think there was no freight carried on the island's remaining line after the end of steam, , only works trains after that, and in recent years there as been no other motive power except for the emu's since the two 03's were returned to the mainland.

Is there not now so much as a rail trolley left at St.John's?

For maintenance purposes any need for a wagon can be catered for by use of Road Rail Excavators and trailers on short term contract hire.

And by hiring in more specialised plant, such as tampers etc, If reports turn out to be right, and island line do put in an un signalled connection at Small brook, then for any larger civil engineering work, such as ballasting, relaying etc, then there is the opportunity to hire , when available engineers vehicles from the IOWSR,

There's some photos on the C&W Facebook page, seems they are currently just being stored on behalf of the contractor Sonic Rail.

I love the YouTube updates, thanks. Good communication and good results for the line too.

I do have kittens when publicising videos though, I now spend more time worrying if people are socially distancing and observing Working at Height Regs than looking at the images!

Bearing in mind the alleged offence and the age of many of the visitors to any Heritage Railway, maybe something the BBC may be suggested to not use.

Can someone please explain the relevance to the Steam Railway of a news item about an IoW resident who is accused of some crimes?

So how it went during the news at lunch was.

Articles runs my wife says where is that, I say Haven Street, she says Isle of Wight?, I say yes, she says so what does he do on the railway.

I suspect others who know the line may think the same.

Just stirring the pot a wee bit? No-one would jump to the conclusion that someone is connected with the local yacht club because a picture of them taken at the harbour is available and used.

That's what you may think I would probably disagree. But hey I was only trying to protegee the image of your railway, so I will not bother in the future.

"But hey"(!!) If you had not drawn attention to it, no-one would have made any connection.

Given what he is alleged to have done, the railway could be justifiably upset by the use of their location, as a backdrop to the story, especially as people will put 2, and 2 together and wrongly think he was something to do with the railway, when he appears to have only been a visitor .
