I got through on 01483 209886. This number is also quoted on the A1 Trust website - maybe they have a separate line just for Tornado bookings.

I'm not sure I can see the post you reference from 'Locomotion' but a special phone number was given to Covenators for booking with Steam Dreams on this trip. Might have caused the confusion.

I'm on Saturday and lineside somewhere on Sunday. Any suggestions?

I don't know about tickets but these runs are only open to covenators. If you qualify I'd give ring Steam Dreams tomorrow.

Anyone know which stock will be used? I'm guessing, as I believe it to be a DBS/EWS tour, it'll be some hideous multicoloured combination, but was just wondering if anyone was in the know? It'd be great if they'd reform the RTC blood and custard rake for the occasion, but I guess that's being somewhat optimistic [-o<

No reason why it can't be OM02. Depends on operator requirements i guess.

If you are going to windows hang can i suggest a balaclava and googles, it is absolutley freezing here at the moment. With windchill it must be a good few below, good test for the steam heat on coaches courtesy of Tornado.

Hope everybody has a great couple of days, will see it both days at Chester le Street i think, will try and get video onto Youtube, will be my first try at it though!!!

Just a quick thought, as the A1 lads are on the last push to pay off loans etc, perhaps as a small way of celeberating this weekends return of an A1 to mainline passenger haulage readers of this forum send off the price of a pint or 2 to help funding.

I will start by pledging (and posting) a tenner today.

I think the stairs at York 10/11 should be manned and either a valid ticket for any train or a donation of £2 is required? That would get a bit tedious with XC and FTPE passengers using it too.

    Cheers,
    Mark

And lots of them apparently. Booked four today but pay on the day is available so I was told.
Some nice pubs in Durham so should be a good day out.

Really? I'm quite surprised. Perhaps the change in destination put a few people off (Not that theres anything wrong with Durham!). I booked my tickets on Tuesday and was worried they might not have any left!

I don't think so - DBS (EWS as was) don't do steam heat. Hopefully, there will be a generator car (preferably 35469 rather than that noisy blue thing!) as the other option is a d**s*l on the back.
