Thanks. I have now worked out our bash plan. Excellent timetable. Hope it all goes well though looks a bit tight so expect late running and maybe cancellation of the freight to help recovery. Not being a pessimist just remembering past galas.

Arrived on 6 October. Don’t forget to visit the sales stand at Ropley, should be near the workshop.
Life is tough for single society owned locos at present , my ‘other’ engine had been self isolating at Stewarts Lane since February earning nothing and Bahamas is not much better off.

As well as the Bahamas Society goods that can be seen on the website http://ingrowlocomuseum.com/?page_id=1051 I understand there'll be a replica 45596 smoke box plate, replica nameplates for Leander and Malta G C plus a range of used OO guage models for sale, all to raise funds to keep Bahamas running....
    Should be a good weekend!!!

My Saturday tickets turned up on Monday. I have a seat allocated in set B but my son, who is 13 and on a childs ticket does not have a seat allocation. I know there are some on here who work on the line and probably know the answer to this so does anyone know if the seat next to me will be his automatically? Can't imagine them offering it to a third party for distancing reasons. Just can't understand why they just don't allocate a childs seat as well.
Now that Alexander the Not so Great has given the south the go ahead, am really looking forward to it now.

Phone the information office on 01962 733810 and speak to someone at the railway directly.
My understanding is that Free (under 5's) Child tickets will not have an allocation, but 5-16 should, so the railway is best placed to sort this for you.

You can add another Nat Pres member to this train too? I'll be there with my son. Can't remember the coach (ticket not with me) but seat 23 it is for me!
Better print off the timetable and get working out the day now!

Well as my son is a massive dog fan, there is a very good chance you'll see a beaming lad heading in your general direction from coach L.
P.S. and if the aforementioned big black dog is a labrador, he'll probably lose interest in anything else!

sorry not a Labrador, a german shepard, she's small though for the breed, she's all black, apart from her feet which are a mixture of colours.

Gents, I'm not sure that looking to meet up and chat in a coach meets the Government advice on social dustancing, but hey ho.

As its gala time, its time for an unashamed plug on behalf of all the hardy souls in the wagon group, and our sales stand!

This time round, we're having a change of scenery......... you won't find us in our usual spot on the up platform at Medstead, instead, we've decided to sample the delights of Ropley, or more importantly inside the carriage workshop at Ropley, where you'll be able to contrast & compare the BY Van (C) that we've recently returned to traffic, alongside another BY being brought back from the dead!

The intrepid souls manning the sales stand will no doubt be able to answer any questions you may have, whilst perusing our offings of second railway books & bits & pieces, along with our 2020 limited edition Halls Brewry vans - we have two differently numbered - they're £14 each or two for £27.

They do look rather smart, and will compliment any layout.

    Pic below (not mine)

We look forward to seeing you all over the weekend. :)

I've just been checking the working timetable. I'm in Ropley 'box on Saturday morning. Oh boy, I'm going to be busy!

Err I have to go and walk past and then talk to various tables that aren’t wearing face masks with my job, I’m sure a ‘Hello I’m X let’s have a chat outside at Y’ shouldn’t do any harm.

I don't recall anyone saying meeting in a coach. In fact, from what I understand, you are not allowed to leave your seat except to light and alight. Merely saying hello with no handshake or hugging can be undertaken, especially if in the open air, with a 2m distance, the wearing of a face mask and for far less than the regularly stipulated 15 minutes. Crikey, daily work schedules are less stringent than the rules being applied at the gala.

Hell, if any of the above were to be flouted not only would I increase the risk of contracting the disease, the whole time at the gala would be wasted.

Has common sense finally been completely lost in this country?

Caveat: I have no intention now or ever of hugging anyone at a gala! You're all safe! Let's stay that way. ;)

Looking very nice this morning. Come and visit the 45596 shop in the carriage shed.
