Can't see that. With a diesel they wouldn't take 34 mins up to Grayrigg and 14 mins Tebay to Shap Summit. Could be a lively ride down through Penrith!

A gruelling climb of Shap, the loco looked in control and it certainly wasn't a slog like that time in 2015 when in ran in front the Brit !

Yeah, you're right, sectional 'guess' times by me but as she seems to be on her own, good poerformance so far. I'm surprised the load hasn't been reduced though for the 5xp; I thought there was a maximum laid down last year which was not 12 ! Does reduced loading make that much difference. Ais Gill later !! Be good to see the videos

"Social distancing" at Ribblehead Station. Guess he is more than 2 metres away from the folks on the platform.

Well with Wilpshire left to conquer today has been somewhat of a trial of strength. So far the crew and the loco are just winning. Given that the loco is overloaded, we have got away with it. Well done to all.

Whalley to Wilpshire Summit Marker 12m 58s. Slipped after tunnel to just under 10 according to unreliable phone app. Got to Preston 6 down after being held for 4m on the Jn.

A really measured and masterful climb of Wilpshire. Good that the summit arrived when it did though!

An excellent effort by crew and the Jubilee. I feel certain that West Coast wouldn't have asked Mick Rawling and Craig Todd to do what they had to today unless there was a better alternative. Lucky that the rain Gods were kind.
