Would anyone be able to tell me what time you'll be allowed into Ropley station in the morning, thanks.

Looks like it will be after the 23rd October as there were tickets for sale for a photo charter with the Jubilee on the 23rd on the MHR website Calendar.
The booking option has been removed from the calendar now which probably means the charter has sold out.

Hopefully the return journey to the KWVR will be in Daylight as I would love to see 45596 before she returns home.

There is limited availability for gala tickets. There are a few tickets for Sunday. Friday and Saturday the odd ticket available, but you will need to call the railway. It is looking like there will be none available on the day. Entry is by train ticket only. There are no platform tickets anywhere to ensure safety.

A minor issue; is the 17:45 departure from Alton jet propelled? It takes three minutes to get to Medstead (everything else takes 13) and only 15 minutes to reach Ropley!

Sorry for being a pedant :)

I think you are looking at an old version of the timetable - this has been corrected on the version which you can access from the MHR web-site. Basically add an extra 10 mins to everything.

OK thanks, I just clicked on the link provided above - the train in question was missing completely in the original version!

Quick question regarding tickets, are they e-tickets or paper ones via the post? Asking as we are also booked on Friday but have not received anything so far (today's post has just arrived)

May be more of an issue if travel restrictions are introduced from areas with high infection levels, than Hampshire itself of course. Not sure where AMP would hope to be travelling from.

If people are going to have their temperature taken, that should at least reassure people, I'm from a low risk area , and ive been tested, and given the all clear, so hopefully I should be able to go.

I hope the volunteer taking the temperature isn't a vet.

Thats certainly taking virus control very seriously, " but it's only a cold" as Hazchem equipped men, drag you off behind the PMV.

I think you partly missed my point. There seems to me little point in putting places like Manchester or Liverpool into some form of lock down and then letting people hop on a XC service to Winchester or pop off in a car to attend the gala. I do not see how the government can not fail to introduce some form of travel restrictions from those areas (like the Welsh Assembly have).
Yes temperature checks are fine, as are tests, but like any health check it is only a snapshot at that moment in time. Because you did not have it yesterday, does not mean you do not have it now if you have been out and about. For example I need to go and collect some drugs for my wife from Boots this afternoon. Nothing to say I will not catch it from someone in the town, or in the chemist.
