Simply they do now, they didn't then.

WCRC have the former Allerton wheel lathe installed in a purpose built shed.

As the Easterling has now been cancelled, and Tornado's next booked work appears to be from Bristol on 14th November, I guess this move is likely to be cancelled too.

Does anyone have any idea when Alberta is coming back to Carnforth?

As expected, Tornado's move to Southall on Thursday has disappeared from RTT, but in its place are the following moves:
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/K71048/2020-10-01/detailed
    https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/K71049/2020-10-01/detailed

My initial thought was that this was 45562's move back to Carnforth, but why would it go out to Scarborough first? I presume it has something to do with the 25 minute stop at Malton on the way back - publicity shots, perhaps? There seems to be a change of motive power at Holgate Loop and it is pathed at 95mph from then on. I know that speed and load are theoretical in the case of steam, but are engine and coach workings normally timed at 95mph?

Of course, if the purpose of the trip is publicity photographs, it could be Tornado as it is not now going to Southall.

Possibly a way of getting the coach from the Lune Rivers trip that was left behind at Scarborough and 45562 back to Carnforth.

Ah yes, of course, I had forgotten about the coach. But the 95mph path from Holgate Loop?

Correct, it's 45562 going to Scarborough to pick up the coach. No idea about the change in speed on the return though, possible an error on RTT.

Thanks for that. I presume, then, that the Malton and Holgate Loop stops are to check the brakes, so it could run earlier and earlier if everything is OK in that department - a known hazard of this type of working anyway.

Does the 50mph outward path suggest tender-first? Can't think why this would be other than to save turning it before it sets off from York, as there seems to be plenty of time to turn it at Scarborough.

Perhaps "Albertea" is going out with its support coach aboard which they will have equipment to deal with the coach at Scarborough to make it suitable to run.

Its railway stock of age moving into preservation, whether it appeals to one or not, its as valid on here as a King/Castle/manor etc.
