Snooze you lose I believe the expression! :) Hope this works for somewhere I haven’t travelled on yet :Banghead: I think they’ll be a lot of interest from other railways watching on. Looking forward to seeing the photos :)

Yep, I didn't get time to book last night. I didn't think they would sell out that quickly. Fingers crossed that there will be additional operating days for 45596 at the MHR.

I don't think this is a good idea.

People will congregate near the railway without tickets. MHR have issues with landowners as it is.

Only just noticed this and immediately see its a sell out! I wonder if they would consider making the timetable available for a fee, though I guess the poster above is correct in that will encourage crowds but that may end up being the case anyhow.

Thank you for your concern, but the railway enjoys cordial relations with other landowners. Nobody welcomes trespassers though.

good advice , I'm going, and I'm prepared to take my chances, If life is to ever return to normality, we have to take an educated chance, and listen to the health people who do have an idea on what is safe yes its a risk, but saying that, isn't everything, i could step outside and get run over, fall down the stairs, but if I lived fearful of everything, I wouldn't even step outside

I'm just happy that the demand is there for this event, and that its going to go ahead, , it's a risk, yes, but so is everything these days, and as long as people remember social distancing and their masks, hopefully everyone should be OK.

Its going to be a bit of a challenge as I doubt all will be able to either social distance or wear masks. (Some people will be exempt from wearing masks due to medical reasons like me). More tickets have since been released on all three days. I don't know how the "seating" arrangements on coaching sets will work though.

I think you are correct as I am sure there will be a big enthusiast demand to see it all happen after so long. t I suspect here will probably have to be some management of the land adjacent to the railway, especially if new crops have been planted. How that is done however I am unsure other than by very unhappy farmers.

Having phoned the railway today, the answer is no, which is understandable.

I just hope that these extra tickets are because they weren't all originally released, rather than they've found some way of squeezing more people in....

As I mentioned earlier it's quite a difficult thing trying to accommodate everyone in accordance with the current restrictions. If you get a party of 5 or 6 you can put them all into a compartment, but single travellers are more difficult to accommodate. I think the only way you can go about it is release some tickets, see who books, work out where to put them, then release a few more tickets and so on until it really is full. Alternatively they may just have decided to add an extra coach to each set, or go for the Indian model and put people on the roof :)
