Thanks for that. I'll drop by after filming 44871 on the Royal Duchy on Sunday.

Let's show solidarity when the group needs our support. <BJ>

This nicely exposes the hypocrisy of the WSR board.

Has the WSR Plc Board ever said openly that it only wants ex-GWR engines as its core fleet, for reasons of authenticity? This has always seemed to me to be a conspiracy theory put forward by an individual on here who, if you read his posts, likes to see conspiracies in everything, not just on the WSR. Personally, I can see that the letting go of the 56XX, 4F and 7F were all cost saving measures even if the readiness to unilaterally default on a signed contract strikes me as repugnant business ethics where volunteer organisations that have committed to the WSR in good faith are concerned.

Not that I have seen , much of the theory stems from historic conversations which mapped a path, how much of the events have subsequently happened is best left alone for now

At risk of sounding like I am repeating things , events in isolation may look not unreasonable and even have logic . The broader cannon paints a different image.

the communications do seem to have got better. The joint S&D/WSR statement on the 7F comes across as positive . How much individually we choose to read between the lines is up to us and again in isolation it comes across as reasonable solving pressing issues , namely the 7F's need to earn money and the WSR's liability (depending on final outcomes) can be reduced.

I don't think it is necessarily the PLC that has a penchant for all things GWR, even if some there have more than a nodding acquaintance with GWR locomotives. It is I believe, due to others players in the WSR fold.
If it were so, then the loss of 4110, 4160, 56XX and 6990 would appear at odds with the comment.

  7. I see WSR plc AGM has been delayed by eight weeks, now 21st November.

All those wishing to join the Board this year can now apply as the meeting is well over 60 days away. Form an orderly queue.

The Covid rues for proxy-only no attendee AGMs runs out, I think, on 30th September (unless extended?) https://www.gov.uk/government/publi...l-general-meetings-and-other-general-meetings. The delay will seemingly allow some form of public meeting and questions.

What's the excuse this time ? Accounts not ready at a time with minimal financial transactions ?

I think this was predicted several pages back.

The creative accounting department not quite ready with their cover story? I wonder how much imaginary profit they will manage to create, out of thin air this time?

Yes. I think it is open to the public. But maybe email the SDRT to double check?

I seem to recall that a certain party tends not to feel bound by contracts. Has anyone identified any other reason for a loco to go up and down the road network?
Edit: correct typo "and" to "any"

lack of steaming fees? making it not worthwhile for the engine to remain at Minehead? , or is it to save the PLC from paying out said fees?
