Reminds me of the toy that had a pop-up character spring loaded in a tin can! I'd have bought one if it was a Deltic!

Although there would not be this many passengers on a socially distanced tour I wonder if this lot at Whitby were socially distanced if they would stretch back to the chip shop opposite the station. Plus there were more railtour passengers still waiting in the dry under the canopy and a lengthy NYMR queue as well for their service train after the tour departed.
Also continuing Peter's railway cat sub theme, Ringwood the Swanage shed cat in May 2015. Unsure if he was RO that day or just heading to the ops office for a free lunch! IMG_7747.JPG IMG_4513.JPG

A site no longer with us.

Can anyone identify the face in the bottom foreground?
It's not me by the way, but I do know it's someone on here.

It was - in the former L&Y M.P.D. and since relocated to Preston as the Ribble Steam Railway. A large shopping outlet, Asda, Boots etc now occupy the site. The locos on road 1 were Hudswell 'Waleswood', Avonside 'Lucy', Barclay 'Efficient' and Pecketts 'Birchenwood No5' and 'North Western Gas Board'. On road 3 are 76079, 47298 (both retrieved from Barry in 1974) and 44806. There must have been a big shunt on for everything to be outside.
    Cheers,
    Ray.

I recall one shunt on a Saturday when Persil dragged everything outside for some reason. Then could not push it all back in.
I volunteered to act as night watchman till a loco could be fired up on the Sunday.
Anyway that allowed me to take this rubbish print showing the empty rail side of the shed.
6 Road shed 100 yd long shed with 2 for road vehicles and 4 for Rail.
The big problem with the shed was the roof, it rained longer inside than outside.
The buses in sight are ex Southport, Bradford Trolleys, St Helens, Wallasey another Southport, Stockport tram and a fire engine.
