Steve's link above to an article in an IRS magazine shows a drawing of the loco but I'm unable to read the width over cylinders. Anyone know what that dimension is - looks a bit on the wide side?

The width appears to read 8' 9" from the image extracted and enlarged.

Would I be right in thinking that the throw may be rather less than most though?

    Bump!

What were the other Industrial Garratt's that worked in the UK?

I could see this on the GCR Windcutter set if it was possible.

It was the same type as the old Airfix model. A Scammell, i think.

It would be better suited at Foxfield where it could demonstrate just why the class was designed in the first place...

Here's a pic of the beast taken a couple of weeks ago. It's in the main shed now, but due to lack of funds there's no plans for restoration ATM. [IMG]

Martello was looking and sounding well however

And as it can't carry BR livery I doubt the railway mags would be interested in launching an appeal.

When restored I look forward to hearing it tackle the bank from Leekbrook to Ipstones.

Looking well and sounding very much like a small dog with an attitude problem, in fact. I can suddenly hear why Terriers got their name.

Or would Grosmont - Goathland be an option?

In this month's Steam Railway, Bressingham are interested in overhauling and running this (no funds though!). I think it would be popular in the hire market.

Two photo's at Baddersley on Sunday 01/06/1958 ,the other of a L M S Garratt passing Kettering shed on a Wellingboro' to Cargo Fleet or West Hartlepool iron ore train.02/05/1956 .Note the squirt of steam behind the chimney ,that was characteristic of these loco's when pulling. I ask several loco 'men (including my farther ,who was a driver at Kettering) and no one was sure what it was.
