But businesses (incl heritage railways) can't run on optimism. They need realism, pragmatism, and the ability to assess different options to see if they will actually work. The hopes and optimism of enthusiasts doesn't really help them.

Running heritage railways and - particularly railtours - is very difficult with social distancing if you want to be profitableor cover a decent amount of your costs. Businesses can only exist for so long if they are running at a loss. They may decide to simply postpone the restart of their operations instead.

A few of the B1 on the Highlands and Islands Tour last May. Locations are ,Auchtertyre Viaduct near Tyndrum, leaving Bridge of Orchy ( I didn't get right to the top like Jonny G, but then I'm 40 years older than him!) and on the return journey in the Monessie Gorge. The fire risk protocol was in operation so the idea was to find places to mhide the diesel on the back.

There are a lot of shots I regret never being able to take, due to my lateness to the game (blame my age perhaps?). But this, this is why I'll keep pestering James for a return to the bash. I need this.

And yes, Need. Not want, need! Absolutely belting shot John. In fact, everything on here has been spectacular to see. It's been a pleasure to be part of the gang, but all of these images have proven to be a class of their own.

Thanks Jonny, I know what you mean but there is always something that you regret not doing. I didn't go to the NE in the 60s. I blame that of trying to juggle the interest in steam with the more normal things teenagers do!
