Having just looked it up, Pug 19 instead of its just-like-everything else BR black (inauthentic) could be painted an attractive red and be named “Prince” (100% authentic)!

I suspect that a majority of non-enthusiast visitors quite liked it.

I'd quite like to see what the Fairburn would look like in Midland livery, also G&SW livery, North Staffs, and why not Highland (early Drummond era for preference).

    I'll get my coat.

The punters loved it as did the owner (RIP) although I was never sure if that's because the Blue upset the 'enthusiasts' - twas the loco I passed out on to drive, although by then it was Black.

Take a picture of the engine as it is now, Photoshop will do the rest for you

I suspect the majority of visitors like it because it was a steam loco. It still looks silly.

Then you have 9 which currently is in Cambrian colours.

Can the authenticity police give us a confirmation of the authenticity of VOR 9 in Cambrian colours?

Don’t know about the Cambrian but the 80s and 90s are best forgotten, I attended a photo charter there last year and it’s clear the line is now run by railway enthusiasts

    Well...

    https://rail.pictures/picture/19055

    9/1213 was built in 1924...

    It wasn’t named until 1956

Obviously it is a bit easier if you believe it to be a rebuild of No.2

Most of the BR standard 2-6-4Ts were built in Brighton - so LBSC livery would be more appropriate for one of them.

So 80002 could carry Midland Crimson? I suppose it would match 41241!

VOR 9 has been running as GWR 1213 since November 2016.

I think this is getting a bit silly now. The BR Standards were built 30 years after the LBSCR ceased to exist so how can it be appropriate?

I seem to recall one April Fools joke this year where the owning group of a 4MT tank had supposedly repainted their engine in an odd rendition of BR maroon. Sadly I didn't remember which 4MT tank had received the Photoshop treatment, nor did I save the link to the pictures, because it would have been fun to bring up in this thread now!
