Nice one Dave, very well deserved for a superb photo. Presumably they asked your permission to print?

    Nice shot DD.
I wonder how many people just looking at it will realise it's being banked :)

From memory and going back some years since I’ve had a photo in a magazine. Between £20 to £30 for a photo in a magazine but different magazines may pay different amounts.

Mags' advertising has dried up (events, accommodation etc.). Will they lose the impulse buy and discretionary spend purchaser?

I expect more staff taken and library shots, and fewer paid for photos.

The last issue of Steam Railway had quite a few photos from Alamy in it.

    Thanks Andy!

Yes they did, they also asked if they could publish it as an official MHR press release, to which I said yes & in the process waived any right to a fee - I don't need the money, but the railway needs the publicity it can get & I can't think of a nicer way to oblige!

@gricerdon, I hope that explains all for you - as has been mentioned, advertising revenue has evapourated, so call it my way of helping things..... reckon if I'd said I wanted paying, I wouldn't've got published!

@LC2 - cheers Tim, I'm actually thinking of splashing the cash & geting a ruddy great framed print or canvas of it........

    It’s a cracking photo, DD.

On another note - did the Bulleids go home, or are they still on the MHR? I’ve lost track ...

You should. There are various places out there.
I think I've used DSColourlabs in the past.
