To be honest, it's a bit more involved than that. Third party engineering costs money and transport to and from.

Is progress with Sgt. Murphy being made?

    From facebook a positive post
Today - 16th February - was our first operational day of 2020, and although volunteers were thin on the ground, due to other commitments and storm Dennis, both the mainline and the pixie line were operational and the Busy Bee cafe was very welcoming after its recent makeover. We also took our first group booking of the year.
Presumably work on track and Sargent Murphy loco (a new photo showing it looking completed was posted) is progressing?
Downside, checking companies house accounts still outstanding.

The photo looks like Alan George rather than Sgt Murphy.

We called in briefly the other day, and although trains weren't running the track looked cared for and the Teifi Valley was a pretty bit of Wales. Best of luck to those taking care of the railway.

It's a bit misleading to imply that this is a recent photo when in fact it was taken over 5 years ago.

Is that a fact? If so how do you know as the post certainly implies different?

Couple of things jump out at me - the old Rhiwderyn sginal box appears to be still being modified in this picture (over on the far right of the image) - my guess is the decking being put in around it, although this is now finished I think. Also the original platform on the left of the run-round loop (where the picnic benches are) was exposed back in the summer of 2019, but that clearly isn't the case in this image (unless it's been covered over again)

That's not a particularly compelling case that Elizabeth is right - just some things that jumped out at me. Haven't been the Hellan for ages so I could well be wrong

Fair enough I must admit I hadn’t noticed the signal box, I’m sure that was completed last time I was there but like yourself it’s been a while.

This was a strange one : I witnessed 2 features - the caravan up by the carriage shed and the small shed close to the bridge - being removed by Hewhomustnotbenamed - so was confident the picture dated from early 2014, but I was wrong. Both have been replaced by identical items on the same sites! So the picture is recent after all. To check my memory I went over there this afternoon and took this.

Ah yea and you can see from that angle that the decking around the signal box is finished - my bad! Really excited to visit the new museum at Henllan

Since you have confirmed yourself that his picture is current, I think you should apologise to @Goldie for accusing him of misleading people.

The Teifi Valley Railway Society apparently is still alive since its AGM was held on Saturday (in abbreviated form because of the restrictions). Alas the only Accounts available were for 2018. See Charity Commission website for details.

Still no apology for @Goldie ?
Your moral high ground seems to have severe subsidence.

No need to goad her, Keith. She's already admitted she was mistaken.

She was, however very quick to publicly accuse Goldie of misleading people. Although she did later admit that she was wrong she has never publicly apologised to goldie.
It's a bit hypocritical to regularly come on here and accuse the TVR of this, that and the other, but when Mrs Perry gets something wrong then she can't apologise?

What I wonder about though, having visited 10 or so years ago is the TVR about?

Its a narrow gauge line but not in a part of Wales associated with them, built on a standard gauge trackbed.

There were some lines serving MoD Depot's and of course the trench lines in WW1 but it didnt seem to have any particular emphasis on those
