Well done to all involved, a very good day. 1369 as good as ever. 4555 made a welcome return but I assume whoever lined it out was paid by the foot!

Hope the event paid for itself. Some of the trains appeared to be very lightly loaded.

SDR seem to be struggling for coaches in the last few years, something which is not unique to them.

I wonder if the incident at the SDR made them assess their rolling stock and harshly deem vehicles unfit? Same with other railways.

I am a member of the Dean Forest Railway Society. Since the beginning of 2019, the railway has had 5 operational Mk1/2s plus a sixth vehicle available in the Hawksworth Saloon. Out of the 5 mk1/2s, two new Mk2 TSOs were purchased in 2018 and a Mk1 BSK entered traffic for the first time in preservation in December 2018 after a near enough total rebuild that lasted over a decade. A fourth of the five - the railway's Mk1 BSOT - entered preservation traffic in 2006 (so has not be around for decades). Meanwhile the rest of the stock - Mk1 three TSOs, a RMB and BCK - have been withdrawn since the end of 2017 and 2018 and are stored due to their poor condition, with one TSO currently being refurbished.
