Your photo 185 of 45562 Alberta, labelled 'unknown railtour' is The Ashington Railtour, originating at Huddersfield on 10th June 1967.

The train arrived at Ashington behind Alberta and the loco was detached (as in your photo). It then ran to North Blyth MPD for servicing and turning before returning to its train at Ashington for its return trip south. While Alberta was away being serviced the passengers were given the option of a visit to NCB No 3 Area Workshops at Ashington, or a tour of the NCB private rail network to Linton and Ellington behind NCB 0-6-0T No 39, especially spuced up for the occasion. The photo is taken at Ashington on the branch to Linton Colliery, where the detached stock remained for the afternoon. The NCB private platforms and the carriages used for the visit can be seen on the right of the photo, with Ashington town hall clock tower in the background. The platforms were used for miners getting to and from work at Linton and Ellington in the days before car ownership was widespread. Linton pit closed in 1968.

A memorable day. I chased the train around on my bike, photographing it at Bedlington, Blyth and Ashington.
