A wonderful first day today with lots of bright sunshine.

Visiting engine GWR No.4144 powers away from Damems Junction with the early morning freight service to Oxenhope, 6th March 2020.

I enjoyed the first day of the gala, and the excellent weather. Thanks to all involved.

One minor disappointment ... I hope KWVR volunteers won't mind me mentioning it. I was particularly looking forward to seeing and photographing the GWR Prairie Tank, but when it appeared it was obscured by 41241. Later in the day it appeared again, this time obscured by No 85. It seems a shame to bring this lovely engine all the way to Yorkshire, and then run it as the inside engine of a double header.

Otherwise another cracking day out on the Worth Valley.

I think that there are insufficient duties to keep all engines busy. There is already (IMO) too much double heading.

Great conditions on the first day especially for the first train of the day. A couple of us immediately retired to the superb Buffet Car cafe opposite Haworth statio for one of their magnificent breakfasts in celebration! Nice to see quite a few members from here.

We had an excellent time at the gala, arriving early on Friday and staying until mid morning today. First visit to the line for me since either 2005 or 2006 (can't remember!), and it's just a lovely as I remember - something to do at all of the stations, an interesting collection of stock and locos and some decent scenery.

Thanks to all the volunteers who were incredibly friendly, and kudos for the general state of the place (I head three different people mention how clean the toilets were...).

Back from a lovely couple of days at the gala, first visit for over four years somehow will certainly be back sooner. Little one loved travelling on the Sunday! Compilation video from across the weekend, photos to follow...
