This year's Cotswold Festival of Steam shall take place over between Saturday 23rd and Monday 25th of May 2020, with at least three visiting locomotives planned as well as the home-fleet, with an intensive timetable and some trains featuring double-heading and interesting combinations of motive power. Once again, engines that have never visited the railway before are being invited.

It should be yet another fantastic show this year, not a whole lot of information regarding the event i.e. guest locos or theme yet but hopefully the GWSR will start to release news in the not-too-distant future.

There is now a dedicated FaceBook page here, which has also just posted this clue to the first guest, along with the suggestion that it may well give the theme away all on its own...

Is this the first time it's run on a railway outside its home base at Midsomer Norton?

If they say that the engine will give away the theme - then it could be S&D. Im looking forward to the J27, Q6, B1 etc being announced as visitors...

No. Its just some mentioning Midsomer Norton, thus "S&D theme possible" comments will start... hence saying J27 and Q6 needed - rather than SDJR stuff which is what others will be suspecting....

The 2020 Cotswold Festival of Steam page is now available as are advanced tickets.

    https://www.gwsr.com/Cotswold_Festival_of_Steam_2020--post--82.html

We have held our prices, £23 in advance for an adult day rover with up to 9 engines in steam plus many additional attractions.
I'd call that a bargain but I may be slightly biased....!

Further announcement to come this week...

I don't normally say what locos I am guessing which could visit galas but I have a feeling 7F 2-8-0 No. 53809 could be on the guest list as a reciprocal for 42xx 2-8-0T No
    4270 visiting North Norfolk.....

    .....we see what happens.

So does that indicate a S&D theme? If so what else could we expect. Sounds like 2 more guest loco's coming.

Slightly ambitious time scale for a new build project but then most are....

We could invite a OO one? Would that suffice?
