Does anyone know where City of Truo is?
I've tried searching the NRM website but only find prints.
I can't find a list for locos at Steam either and I don't trust Wikipedia.
    Or am I being blind?
    Many thanks.

This is a bit odd, but bear with me as it is City of Truro related....

I had my only main line run behind her when I was a kid in the mid 80's. We booked on what I assume was a Scarborough Spa from York to Scarborough return, however when we arrived to travel the train had some manner of peculiar tie up with the Miss United Kingdom competition. Dont recall seeing any contestants but do recall a truly dreadful (and enormous headboard).

Despite trawling the interweb I cannot find any record of this train or pictures to confirm my horrors regarding the headboard. Does it ring a bell with anyone and if so an idea of date and any links to pictures would be appreciated.

Can't say that rings any bells, but I used to have a link ( http://www.scarboroughrailwaysociety.org.uk/Steamvisits.html ) to a list someone had compiled of steam trips to Scarborough.
Unfortunately the Scarborough Railway Society now seem to depend on Facebook and the page I get with this link has an unreadable message on it, though someone may be able to help if you want to contact them to follow it up.

Thanks, I am not so interested as to spend any time chasing this up bar the opportunist post on this thread!
