Anyone know the current condition of Bagnall 0-6-0PT 2613 Brookfield? We were chatting about past visitors to Foxfield the other day and no one was sure what state the loco was in at present? I remember it as a lovely machine, rode beautifully and plenty of go in it! Would be great to see it back again if it's operational.

    Thanks folks.

think its based at mangapps railway still running i think, was the first steam engine to run on the East Kent Railway back in 1996 was definately a croud puller and good performer it tackled the 1.5 miles of 1:75 no problems with two coaches, a brakevan and a 0-4-0 diesel 'CORONATION' in tow.

Has it been reboxed then? When it came to Foxfield it had it's original box which had been repaired with patch screws. Had heard a rumour it might be available if someone made an offer? Not that I'm able to make an offer, more's the pity.

By Mr Dockray?, I dont know, I havnt seen it.

However I understand it was getting some form of D shaped piece let in to the lower part of the barrell around the tubeplate.

I didn't realise that there was a similar loco to Brookfield. I thought that it was pretty unique now.

Currentley She is out of "ticket" and is currently based at Mangapps Farm Railway. She has blown a clyinder casting (as the casting was appently thin upon casting and only blew a couple of years ago). So she is awaiting a new cylender (from what I have been told) I was a fireman at Mangapps and know this locomotive very well.

Gaz the locomotive your thinking about is Empress/Demelza (depending on how you remember her) who is Brookfields stablemate at Mangapps and owned by the same bloke.

I'm sure sure she will be back soon "depending on finance's)

Any more information please contact Mangapps to put you in contact with the owner as I have now left Mangapps for Pastures new so i can not supply any new information

Just so people know what loco we are talking about?
picture of her from New years day 2001, And as Jamie say's she is now stuffed in a corner awaiting a new cylinder casting or major repair and from what I saw of her boiler some major firebox wrapper replacement before she ever runs again.

  11. Could the cylinder be replaced with a fabricated block? it would be cheaper and cost effective to do it this way

Yes I would think so? but the owner will need to finish all the other locos first, as he has 2 others and neither are anywhere near runable at present!
    :-k

True Matt, but the current owner is very elusive!

If Brookfield was available I know a confirmed Bagnall man who would be very interested....
