    Neither of those photos, it looked like scrapping had already started, but those ones are much better quality.

    Curiouser and curiouser! More intrigue in this hole than anything down Alice's rabbit hole. Looks like this puzzle has all everyone flummoxed, albeit with a couple of guesses. Does anyone know an old (Scottish) fitter/shedmaster/anybody who was there at the time? Looks like that may be the only way we will put this fascinating issue to bed.
