    Simply superb.

Seems a fitting thread to thank all those who have contributed to another good year for mainline steam; on board crews, back room staff at TOCs, promoters and NR, those who have posted pics, vids and reports, fellow travellers and, as they say on the Ken Bruce show, “anyone else who knows me” - thank you and I wish you a very Merry Christmas and a happy and steam-filled 2020.

Thanks very much all for your kind comments on the video. It was a pleasure to be out that day, and we were certainly spoiled on these runs, with the 45562 surprise, 46115 in the snow, and this frosty day with 35018 - which is proving itself to be a superb machine. Now, if we could just get 46229 back where she belongs in a few years...

Many thanks, David, much appreciated :)

Working through my backlog, I've just uploaded footage from 24th November of the famous double-header:

2 more excellent videos, David. The effect of the frame-rate, speed of rotation and (I guess) quite a fast shutter speed makes BIL's BFB wheels look like they're going backwards - quite bizarre!

A bit like listening to Slade in January perhaps, but nevertheless here is footage from the final Santa Special on 15th December with 46115:
