In which case the argument might best be made for an agricultural railway. If the railway can be shown to serve a purpose around the farm i.e. used for transporting feed and goods around the farm, then I don't see how anyone could argue it wasn't agricultural.

Better still, lets lay the track along a former line say, oh I don't know, Kinnaber to Perth...? While we are at it give No.9 a full overhaul and get a regular timetable on the go for a 3 hour Gla-Abz run.

I would suspect from a cursery glance at the story linked the simple fact is that the revised building is somewhat smaller than previously applied for and thus us possibly too small to house two mainline steam locomotives?

Set off again today, but appears to have gone into Wolverton Centre Sidings after standing about three hours just south of Hanslope.

So now the tender has been split (according to rail advent) the loco and support coach has been left at wolverton depot following number 9 been repaired earlier at rugby and running hot again at wolverton today on its way en route to southall. The wheelset on the tender is to be taken to Baron Street - Ian Riley's workshop.

60009 failed again last week around King's Langley this time. Loco still sat in Watford Junction yard nearly a week later, sans tender and support coach. Poor thing looked very chilly in the rain when I passed through this morning.

Last update was on evening of 6th December...

As many of you will be aware Number 9 is currently at Kings Langley loop having suffered a recurrence of the tender axlebox problem. Nine will shortly be moving to Watford yard from where engine, tender and support coach will travel to Bury by road in the next few days. We having nothing else to add at this time.

Whooo, got that spooky vibe of seeing 60026 "Miles Beevor" derelict outside Crewe Works in 1967 there with this picture.......

Reminded me more of 60034 sat outside Perth shed in 1966 after giving up it's tender to keep 60024 going for a few weeks more.
If only there were an A4 just now that could loan a tender ? ( wishful thinking  )

Would expect the real issue being the OTMR and electrical gubbins may not be a standard installation amongst other available loco's.

Not enough time though for a F.R.T. to see if number 9 will run at speed on the mainline and for the Edinburgh Xmas market which is now 60163. Well done to team Riley and J.C. yet again for getting U.S.o.A. to run out her months and days till early 2020. At least she still runs for now on the E.L.R. :)
