Is there any definite information as to which locomotives(s) will head the coming Sunday's Santa? I was unable to see the first two but am inspired by the wonderful shots posted herein and can get "oop north" this weekend so will see whatever appears but am still curious to know in advance.

My thanks to all who have posted their shots and to anyone who can answer my little question.

Yes I am an active volunteer
I'd lay money on it having three cylinders. :)

Surprised to find a cafe open in Shap last Sunday after the northbound shot.
It's 'Marsel's Sandwich Bar', it's only recently opened and is about 100 yds south of Shap Chippy on the same side.
They did me a small full English breakfast for £5 including a mug of tea; hope they're open this Sunday.

SG confirmed as in steam today so barring FTR problems should be out tomorrow.

From Railcam at present still in goods loop, ex Barrow allowed out in front and delayed northbound TPE also going to cause further delay.

Edit; passed BLS cam heading south at 1056.

SG is a bit of a beast, the acceleration out of Lancaster would have done a Pendolino proud....

Shap. A visual delight for that alone. Lovely. Of course the speed means absolutely nothing.
