I totally agree. Mayflower has performed very well and reliably this year, but even the top locos sadly are not infallible. Clan Line, a loco synonymous with reliability, had to pull out of a Belmond Surrey Hills working last month. These things happen even to the very best.
My mistake. Humble pie duly eaten!

Seems that Mayflower’s problem has been sorted.
    Tweet from Steam Dreams:-

"We're delighted to say that Mayflower's boiler has now been fixed and she will be heading the trip next Thursday"

    (Oxfordshire & Buckinghamshire to Winchester)

...or maybe not. Just looked for timings on the SD website and seen this:
    "Update 05/12/19 14:15
It is with great disappointment that we inform you that we have taken the difficult decision to cancel next week’s trip from Chinnor to Winchester. This is due to news received today of the continued unavailability of our rostered steam locomotive B1 61306 ‘Mayflower’. Mayflower had developed an issue with her boiler whilst out on our trip last Sunday and this was successfully repaired. Subsequently a further issue relating to the injectors was discovered, and whilst the necessary repairs may not take long to complete, the locomotive will need to cool down following the testing for the boiler repair before the repair can be carried out. There is no longer sufficient time to both fix this new issue and carry out the scheduled washout that also needs to take place. We believe that running the trip diesel hauled throughout would not have been an acceptable alternative for many of you. Under the circumstances we sincerely apologise for the inevitable disappointment that this cancellation will cause."

I wonder if they can have the injectors fixed and the wash-out complete in time for the trip to Stratford on Sun 15th? Fingers crossed...

That is sad news about Mayflower but I have to say that although the trip doesn't affect me it is refreshing to see a company not pressing on regardless with diesel and making the decision to cancel when their steam loco is not available.

Good for Steam Dreams. Let's hope that as @Steamage says the trip on the 15th will be ok.

It is a wonderful development as others have mentioned for 60163 to be more available.

Any updates on 61306's boiler and injectors? I suppose we must wait for tomorrow's FTR. I'm hoping that no news is good news...

Whilst we are behind 7029 having just been down the ECML a friend had said he thought tomorrow’s SD with 61306 might be DL. Any news out there please. Neil

Nothing on the SD site to confirm this.

Looks to have arrived at Clapham Junction, and then reversed back toward Shepherds Bush. Anybody able to confirm what's happening?
