I agree I tend to sort on service type non passenger, at least for the busy locations, just to cut out all the service trains. But if you think or know a tour is running easy to track it down on RTT.

Anyone heard from the Clan Line crew yet, as shes down to working the Surrey Hills outing tomorrow, usually they announce on social media if she's ready or not but nothing yet.

I'm sure that something will be posted officially but I have heard unofficially that it has failed its FTR exam and will not be running. Something that's almost unheard of with Clan Line but no steam loco is immune from hiccups.

Nothing much I can add to what has already been reported about this most unfortunate and unforeseen failure. There is a bit more detail now in the news section of MNLPS website (www.clan-line.org.uk)
At this moment I am reminded of something one of our senior engineers said to me many moons ago "no matter how good you are, from time-to-time steam locos will fail; they always have, and always will".
We failed it the day before, which of course is always preferable to failing en route.
Apologies to everyone, especially to the passengers.

Never mind. I see that the BBC website is now suggesting that the screening of 'The Apprentice' on 20th November will feature the Belmond Pullman under the 'Steam Train' banner. So we know what that means. Maybe we'll get some Bulleid Pacific footage on our screens.

35028 has already featured very briefly in one of the adverts:

The Rail-Advent website is showing both the 5th and 14th Dec Belmond Surrey Hills trips with 35028 as cancelled, but I note that they are still on sale on the Belmond website.

@derby2 , are you very kindly able to clarify? Many thanks if so.

Well, I've heard of the Rail-Advent website but that's about all. Seems they'd be well-advised to check their facts before publishing this sort of stuff. Both trains running, and will be fully-booked.

It isn’t the first time that Rail-Advert has put out duff information.

MNLPS have just posted this on their Facebook page: "We're delighted to report that Clan Line has passed its fitness to run exam this afternoon. We will be out for tomorrows British Pullman via the Surrey Hills"

Very unusually, the BBP lost 20 minutes on the return leg today. This was it just east of Gomshall.

Got back 16 down, held at Redhill awaiting a late running Thames Link to go ahead, it was then a fairly slow run as the TL made its scheduled stops

Two shots from today's trip round the Surrey Hills with 35028 in fine form once again. As is always the way (well, for me), the watery sun was teasing us as 35028 attacked the climb out of Shalford and decided it wouldn't hang around for the train to arrive.
