The origin of the stock is only determined after contracts are exchanged to run the tour... had the contract asked for Rivera stock, regardless of operator the stock would have originated wherever the stock currently is. In this case, contracts have been signed for WCR to operate the tour with their own stock (in house is likely to keep costs down) and therefore, with the stock currently based at Southall, that’s where the ECS starts from.

Not bothered what the stock is as long as Tornado is actually working hard

The 1618 to Leeds has left Carlisle ahead of Tornado.

It looked like a bit of a mess at Carlisle from the moment she arrived from Doncaster, tbh. The initial move of the stock to 'A' road was cancelled, and I think, from what I could see on OTT and Traksy, that the whole train has been turned, which wasn't the plan? Once the moves got out of sync then it was a lottery as to whether she would depart on time - and as we see, she didn't. Yes, she's been put out behind the stopper, so there's no point running hard at present - there are some 9 mile block sections to have clear once past Appleby. Not ideal - this avoids the stopper being late departing stations to at least Appleby, so commercial pressure obviously came into play. I wonder why the initial move didn't happen?

Video of it at Helwith Bridge. Sounded pretty good. Me with the point and press clip at the beginning and Joseph with the panning shot and the editing

The stock was shunted to the lines at the back of latform1 . Don't know if that is A road so it was not turned. As far as heat was concerned ( as mentioned on earlier posts) there has been none at all. The 47 was not providing heat to Doncaster and Tornado has provided none. No generator coach and its b..... cold. Good customer service it is not when the cost is into the hundreds of pounds for my group

I seem to remember being told that BR did not turn on steam heat until November 1, regardless of how cold it may have been. Maybe the wrong type of "Heritage Recreation" then.

That's bad. Do you mean no heat just in your coach or anywhere in the train? Don't think WCRC have ever got involved with generator cars, have they? Steam heat usually works OK on the Southall-based set.

You're not kidding! I got bowled by an HST at Alnmouth earlier this year when following Number 9 on a northbound run. Frustrating...
