I don't usually do much photography, but here's a shot of the Peak leaving Wansford on Sunday - I was actually gathering photos of wagons from the civils sidings, but thought I'd have a go as I had the camera in hand...

60103 heads away from Castor's home and distant semaphores with the last private charter of today, the only shot I got in sunshine before the rain returned with a vengeance. DSC_3875 (2).JPG

Having spent Saturday AM as cleaner on the locomotive, here is a little bit of footage from the lineside during the duration of the event.

Only problem being that since it arrived back at the NVR, it hasn't turned a wheel in anger.

DSB and Wagon Lits stock. No DB/DR stock that I'm aware of.

From West (black 5 end) to east they are:
Belgian Suburban coach (inauthentically painted in Wagons Lits)
2 open Danish 3rd class coaches
1 Danish 1st/rs composite partially converted to kitchen car)
3 SNCB Belgian 1st class cars (also inauthentically painted in Wagons Lits colours)

I didn't realise we had "fake" Wagon Lits stock.

Afraid so! The only 2 'real' Wagons-Lits are at Overton. The Restaurant car is currently under overhaul with a view to providing a second kitchen car for Santa/ dining trains. The Sleeping Car has had various bits done on it over the last decade, including vestibule rebuilds, but is more of a long term project. The youth group down there are the main force behind this. Sadly I don't get much time to get down any more.

The coaches painted in Wagons -Lits were all done so as part of a drive in the 90s for use for corporate hire work and filming. The 3 larger coaches are SNCB K1's, two being K1A's as originally built, and the third being a modernised K1B (without opening windows etc). These would have been used on services throughout the lowlands. Wagons-Lits built very few saloon cars, but the profile of these coaches and their construction techniques are not dissimilar.

The smaller coach with sliding doors is a Belgian Suburban coach. I don't have all the details of its history to hand, but it aledgedly has evidence of bullet holes from a bombing raid during the war.

You'll need to ask the owner.

A uniform rake, "fake" or otherwise, would present a nice image to the public but given the limited use the continental stock gets, I doubt the expenditure could be justified.
