Anyone know what's going on with the tour? It's been at Doncaster for quite a while now, changing locos. Problem with the stock?

Apparently to 90 has died and they had to get permission to drag it off with Tornado.

Some of the crew looked a little tee'ed off when it roared past me at Kirkstall; looking at RTT they've made up 20+ by Hellifield.

Went through Cononley looking and sounding superb as ever. It seemed to take an inordinate amount of time to remove the deceased 90 at Doncaster? Bit ironic that a Wabtec class 08 was trundling up and down on the adjacent lines and could have shifted it in no time, assuming couplings are compatible. Or is it not allowed out on the "big" railway these days?

With not very much recovery time in the schedule. Maybe 2345 at KX.

It looks like they were considering sending a diesel across to Carlisle but then cancelled the move.

    Just reported 1846 Haltwhistle.

RTT currently not showing time for a water stop - is water being taken at Tyne SS?

Change to electric at Tyne Yard. Need to add 20-30 mins to RTT for that. Lost 15 mins on Tyne Valley, signalling problems at Hexham.

I couldn't see a water stop on the outbound journey either. 150 miles plus over 2hours waiting/shunting at Doncaster, that's some tender capacity!

On RTT, make sure you're looking at the WTT column, not the Realtime column. The Realtime column auto adjusts where savings could be made if the train is running late, but doesn't consider there may need to be a water stop.

Yes thanks. I looked at both and saw it was about 20 mins in each column for Hellifield to Settle Junction. Brain cells didn't compute that it's only 3 miles ! I live local-ish so should have realised here was the chance for a splash and dash.
