Yes it was mentioned in a recent circular. Line shut afterwards until late March/early April.

According to the WSR website, this weekend the military goods train will be hauled by 7752 and 53808 from Minehead on both Saturday and Sunday.

Can anyone confirm if this is correct please? <BJ>

Don't quote me on it but Yes. In fact 53808 on the front and 7752 banking on the rear but not on all trains, check with the WSR directly for full details. It should be a good sight, also hundreds of re-enactors are now involved along the line so there will be a lot to see this weekend.

On Saturday it will be top and tailed - 53808 on the front both ways.

On Sunday it will be top and tailed in the up direction. 7752 will then double head with 7828 on the 1215 BL QB, solo on the 1525 MD and light engine 1715 BL to MD.

I'm guessing that this could be that the military train contains unfitted vehicles which are currently not allowed between Blue Anchor and Washford unless banked.

Thank you for your replies. I note that 53808 has been turned and now faces Bishops Lydeard.

The top 'n tailed military goods should look very impressive. <BJ>

Cor, someone’s working late! Foxcote Manor just passed through Blue Anchor with six coaches towards Washford.
What a brilliant sight with a full moon above.

Edit: Presumably associated with this evenings 1940’s dance at Minehead station, but I was surprised that some of the coaches were completely unlit.

The WTT on the main WSR site shows the pannier with the Manor not with 88 on military train on Sunday. Is that typo? Need to make sure I can get a shot of it on the military train. Thxs

If I had the right equipment it would have made a great video, with the sounds of the Manor attacking Washford Bank and the sight of the sparks shooting up into the moonlit sky.

According to the WSR website the train will run again tonight, so no early bed for me!

Last nights timings were 2300 hours at Blue Anchor, terminating at Bishops Lydeard at Midnight.

Yes, that was me working late both nights! Very enjoyable turns to guard.
Unfortunately in 2 of the coaches the lights are not working, hence the fact they were off.
