    Just looking at e.g. this photo from 1930 - they must have been just about the last locos still in use in this country with a "Crewe type" front end? @andrewshimmin?

    Well, the LNW and Highland are railways I'm more confident to blag about than most.
    I can also do L&Y, GSW, Irish railways and overseas, especially British-run overseas.
    With much confidence and probably 75% accuracy....

    For comparison the Skye Bogies lasted until 1930, along with the last of the Bruce and Strath classes, also withdrawn that year.
    I'm not aware of any others, including overseas, but there may well have been some obscure ones somewhere...
