Great Central Railway Gala @ Eastleigh Lakeside Steam Railway

On the weekend of Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th August 2019 Eastleigh Lakeside Railway is privileged to announce that we are hosting a Great Central Railway Gala.

This unique miniature railway event is made possible by the Simkins Family who we are delighted to welcome with their three marvellous locomotives. This will be the first time all three Loco's have been together in one place.

Class 11F 4-4-0 Improved Director Locomotive. Number 505 “Ypres”
Class 8 4-6-0 Number 181
Class 8K 2-8-0 Number 102

There will be a minimum 3-train operation on both days which will be 2 passenger and 1 freight. The freight train will feature John Littlechild’s new Windcutter mineral wagons.

On Saturday 10th there will be a unique opportunity to ride on a parallel run with the Locomotives.

On Sunday 11th the Final train will be a triple header with all three locomotives.

Also, on Saturday 10th the Trains will be running until 9pm as part of our summer evening running.
