See Dalesman thread. It's the cutting near Arten Gill viaduct.

Apparently I've just been updated by R.T.C. they received the final timings off N.R. its 35018 outward from Crewe to carlisle and as far as hellifield on way back (or could it be Farington jct and Preston) Can anyone confirm the final timings or what web site to get them up on?

Well the RTC page for the tour says a actual timings (0652 off Crewe diesel hauled) with steam on at Carnforth. I think maybe all the data has been recently updated so it may well be as written there.
Nothing yet in RTT or OTT but you could also keep checking the Railway Herald tours page as they should have a link to the RTT data when (or if ) the data is loaded into RTT

Yes well what a farce N.R. have made yet again for all those fellow travellers on the C.M.E. on saturday :quote FROM R.T.C. STAFF WHEN I INQUIRED JUST A HOUR AGO STEAM ONLY FROM 10A TO CARLISLE VIA HELLIFIELD DUE TO N.R. IMPOSING OPERATIONAL ISSUES AND CANT RUN STEAM FROM CREWE RETURN ON THE NETWORK AND WOULD YOU LIKE TO TRANSFER YOUR BOOKING BUT SORRY YET AGAIN ON R.T.C. PART NO REFUND ALLOWED, so I switched my BOOKING to the Waverley on Aug 25th I reckon a lot of other travellers on the C.M.E. feel let down also by another shambles

I gues this is because of the engineering work at Warrington Bank Quay. Looks like VTWC are on diversions or buses even today.

37409 ran light engine Carlisle to Blea Moor and back this morning, so opening of the S&C can't be far off.

@Davo Is your post saying it's steam on at Carnforth, to Carlisle, then off at Hellifield on the return?

yes definate the r.t.c. had only just received final timings when i asked this afternoon and its 35018, n.r. have restricted light steam movement to crewe for operational reasons so i was told by r.t.c. and so saturdays tour is diesel to carnforth via man vic and must have to go via chorley (maybe see gladiators post #629) and bolton due to engineering works at warringto b.q. and diesel back from hellifield via man vic to crewe

@Davo Using all capitals as you have in the last couple of posts is the internet equivalent of shouting, please don't.

Emphasis is quite well served by either using italics or changing the colour of the text, you know perfectly well that capitals used in that amount is classed as shouting.

In your opinion. Others have a different view.
