Many thanks Alan and Henry - great to see her back on the main, mainline! And, whilst editing other footage this morning, I was able to watch 45690 going through Horton and Ribblehead via the webcams - getting easy this gricing lark ;)

FS at Shildon until at least the 9th so I don't see that happening. Probably one of the engines from the Carnforth pool will be used.

So over half the people who turn out to see Leander going by will be in the pub that night telling everybody how they had a great view of Flying Scotsman.

Scotsman also involved in the photo shoot with Mallard and Azuma.
Scot has not had any test runs yet although they are scheduled for this week so it's not certain yet.

Couldn't agree more video isn't about length of the clip but continuous action to keep the viewer happy.

Thanks again both - very much appreciated. Lizzie is normally an easy engine to film and edit in so much as you usually hear her before you see her!

RAIL enthusiasts are in for a treat this weekend as the Flying Scotsman rolls back into Carlisle.

The train, dubbed the nation’s favourite locomotive, will arrive in the county on Saturday morning.

It will depart from Crewe in Cheshire at just after 6am and will stop off at various locations in Greater Manchester to pick up passengers on the way, before joining the West Coast Main Line.

The steam train will then head north to Preston, Lancaster, Carnforth, and Penrith, before arriving in Carlisle at about 12.40pm.

It will stay in the city for three hours, before venturing back south through Appleby and Blackburn to Crewe.

The journey, named The Cumbrian Mountain Express, will be operated by The Railway Touring Company.

An operator spokesman said: “Our train will be hauled by a steam locomotive from the Carnforth pool, likely to be either No.45699 Galatea or No.45690 Leander.

“We travel north to Carlisle by the West Coast Main Line over Shap and return via the famous Settle and Carlisle Railway Line.

“Both routes will pass through spectacular mountain scenery.

“A magnificent steam locomotive will haul these trains, which recall the glorious days of steam travel.”

Excellent journalism. To contradict yourself within the same article like that is impressive, or maybe he was going for a clickbait headline on purpose...
