    Afternoon All,

Three shots of 60009 taken this morning are now on Flickr. This is the first one if anyone would like to have a look:

60009 seen on todays "Dorset Coast Express" at Wandsworth Town and Woking, both locations involve the engine powering and whistling, even with the record breaking temperatures!

Diesel working too which is hardly surprising.

It was certainly assisting a bit, but it didn't stop No.9 from putting on a good performance. Provided it doesn't get worse than that (i.e with a diesel tucked in behind the loco) it's still worth witnessing!

Also give a thought for the Gravy Train guys in the Kitchen Car where it is often unbearably hot on a normal day. Was due to steward this one but an operation my wife needed on Tuesday meant that was not possible. So the chance of an hour out to see it at Wareham as she is recovering well was an unexpected bonus.

I am stood at West Byfleet staring at a line of red signals, and tail lights on the down slow and fast, and backed up headlights behind me. Reports of trespassers on the line, hope it's not to do with 60009 which I see is 20 mins late into brookwood, the ups fast and slow are green and empty

On his radio slot today, that prat Vine was suggesting that your boss should tell you not to come in to work if it's to hot.... The mind boggles at his wittering.

Worked in the building trade as a Joiner for over twenty years that involved many a roof construction in the middle of summer so my boss then would’ve laughed at the proposal as I did today for God’s sake  It’s hot so get on with it !!

On the return tonight, passing Worting, pretty much right time. The 47 on the back didn't sound like it was working!

Been there, done that. D1015 to Penzance on the hottest day ever recorded (2003?), cooking bacon sandwiches in the kitchen bar. Unbearable!

It was nine minutes early at Fleet; just as we were getting out of the car there was a rushing noise and an A4 streaked past! So yes, what you said!!

Been having the roof re-slated this week, Chris did a 12 hour day on Wednesday to ensure that it would be finished by the weekend - he is the boss! I was hot just making the drinks.

Couple more trips (both with 60103, so lottery tickets all round) added for November, one being a positioning move from Ealing Broadway to Crewe and another over the North Wales coast. The former mentions Kilsby Tunnel, but I'll believe that when I see it.
