Word reaches me that 9351 is due to be put out solo tomorrow and if all goes well, is expected to be on the Minehead starting diagram for the next week.

What better reason could be had for a trip to West Somerset.

It really isn't an issue. Anyone knowledgeable enough to know what the red dots mean will appreciate the situation fully. I'm told by people who have met one of the ORR's new heritage railway inspectors that he was very switched on indeed, very perceptive and knew his stuff. It is known that the ORR do keep an eye on social media, but I bet my student loan that seeing a picture of 9351 will not have them racing down to Minehead pronto.

9351 making mincemeat of the gradient at Combe Florey on the return leg of her first solo run today between Minehead and Bishops Lydeard.

    Transport to the EGM.

The WSR Plc board have called an Extraordinary General Meeting to be held on Saturday 10th August in Wellington.

I plan to attend, driving from Blue Anchor and returning after the meeting, and I’m able to offer a lift to any 2 shareholders who plan to attend. I can also offer one additional seat from Bishops Lydeard station and return.

If interested, start a conversation with me on NatPres.

It is hard to convey with a photograph how crisp and delightful 9351 sounds at the moment barking her way up from Bishops Lydeard to Crowcombe.

If you can possibly make it to Somerset for a ride in the next few weeks, I would highly recommend it.

Be aware, according to the loco roster on wsr.org, 9351 will not be running this weekend. <BJ>

Probably not Anthony, but it was allocated to Bristol for a brief period. Its main tasks were shunting and short pick-up freight trains.
However those more familiar with the line when it was a BR loco might have another answer.

Click onto the link for a detailed history of the loco and about it's life in preservation.

Thanks to the Buckinghamshire Railway Centre for the link. <BJ>

What's the point of giving the letter a privacy caveat (confidential and restricted) and then splashing it all over the internet?
