There was a 2 car unit parked in Huddersfield Station growing rust.(it had been there a long time)..........but it's gone. Hooray. I hope some members of the 'travellers community' have nicked it.

As long as the mason doesn't write Pacemaker by mistake.

I thought the Northern guy last night was hedging his bets. Everything depends on the deliveries from CAF and whether if the delivery rate is too slow any derogation for the winter timetable will be forthcoming. I'd rather the last ten pacers were running than to have the peak timetable pruned.

If it's a pacer or cancel the train, I'll be happy to go on one. They're not too bad on decent track such as Piccadilly to Alderley/Crewe

They seem to have virtually vanished off the Cumbrian Coast already so all is comparatively well. I understand that much as with Chilterns keeping the Bubble Car it is planned to keep a little group of them running in the Dewsbury area.

Next on the list for northern to sort is these bloody ticket machines and penalty fare nonsense!

They have kept the franchise because they know more than the DfT and they haven't been caught breaking any franchise requirements yet.... ( When they have broken franchise requirements,I presume that they asked permission from the DfT first so they can blame someone else!)

    Cheers, Neil

Well its definatly certain theres a pacer that runs on the huddersfield leeds local via halifax when i go shopping in brighouse and come back to low moor i think i will miss the squealing of the flanges of them going round the 45 degree radius at greetland jct i prefer to ride on the 150,s definatly a smoother ride but i came back from leeds last saturday on the 10:07pm to huddersfield via halifax and it was only a single 1 carriage 150 unit that definatley like riding a bus on iron wheels and it was crammed full of folk going out clubbing.

Could be worse, and Call You and Yours...

Meanwhile, I gather that at least one class 143 has been sold into preservation. What our (formerly?) resident kipper would make of that is be interested to know.

The one where the suggestion was to "withdraw the miserable Yorkshireman along with the Pacers" :D

Tell you what - if they do a piece on Farage's show on LBC would you prefer that?

I am sure they would make a good Pway vehicle and toolstore on heritage lines.

Pway vehicle yes (with a few seats removed), but a bit insecure for a tool store I'd have thought?

Yep, loosen half a dozen bolts, then you can the body off the chassis and stick it on the back of a lorry!
