Is this any use? Reversing over the turntable to get the bunker replenished.

The 'table is equipped with a motor to operate it but it fell into disuse several years ago as it was more trouble than it was worth. It was easier - and more reliable - to turn the loco by hand. However over the winter the motor has been reactivated and now works fine provided you take along a fairly beefy battery pack to get it started. If your battery pack is not up to the job it is now really difficult to push it by hand. We had this trouble with 60103 last month and got it going with the aid of a helpful RAC man who just happened to be parked outside to gate - first time he has been called to assist a steam loco!

No doubt that that is traction inspector Jim Smith! I'm fairly convinced seeing photos that the driver for the return journey was Steve Hanczar. It looked like using video footage that Paul Major was the driver northbound with Don Clarke involved as well.

Jim Smith and Richard Peck in that photo. Paul Major was on the regulator out of the Cross on the Down run.
