Is this tour under threat due to the weather or not?

Interesting to see that this tour is outward via Kemble and Stroud, return via Evesham and Oxford. Looks like it waits in the centre road at Oxford

That's one certainty for sure! Just hope there isn't more flooding as the effects are just devastating.

Perhaps you could consider phrasing your questions in a rather more polite way.

Seems a pretty straight forward question to me - nothing to take umbrage with.

Looks like will pass Clun Castle just outside Oxford on return

More likely to be under threat by lineside trespass. <BJ>

Thank You. Just heard about it because Worcestershire's cricket match was washed out for the first two days before there was play today. The flooding of New Road a few years back shows that things could get messy if there is more rain forecast.

New Road is underwater when it’s 35 degrees and there isn’t a cloud in the sky... it’s a low lying ground next to the river Severn, so of course it’s going to flood.

Also, don’t panic a railtour won’t happen because a cricket match was disrupted. If we did that, we wouldn’t see Steam on the main line again...

It has been wet and cold for four days solid here in Worcester. I can't remember the last time I had to have my heating on in June! But the trains are all still running so there should be no problem for Flying Scotsman's visit. I'll be going around The Chilterns with Clun Castle but should pass 60103 at Charlbury on the way back home in an IET.

No I'm just stating that Worcester in general was flooded about 5-6 years ago. A cricket match being suspended should never influence a steam tour but my worry about the flooding a few years ago is how unprepared the council were in dealing with it. Not much the cricket club could have done.

If Worcester was flooded only 5-6 years ago, surely the tour should be postponed a couple years just to be sure all the flood water has subsided...

Both Shrub Hill and Foregate Street are located high above the city and flooding of the Severn should not ever affect the running of trains in Worcester.

But at the risk of this going seriously off topic... unprepared?! How the hell do you expect the council to stop a cricket ground that lies (at river level) less than 200 yards from a river that floods at the opening of an envelope from, well, flooding?

Let's not fret about the weather in Worcester on Saturday. The forecast is for temperatures to hit a balmy 16C. You can tell that we're only a week away from the longest day of the year. <BJ>

I have been to Worcester behind steam, and found the riverside walk flooded.

I admit I've never been to Worcester and I don't think that will change but at the same time flooding can cause devastation that people who have never experienced it don't understand. I just get worried very easily.
