All I can see from RTT is that all the ECS moves have arrived behind schedule for all 3 trains today, especially the first which would impact on commuters. So is this a non story? or as Donald would say Fake News!

Either way, as we know, NR handles signalling so it's down to them. RTT shows the train leaving late but not arriving early so who knows what it's all about.

Week 2's Shuttles 1 and 3 seen at West Brompton and Putney, both sadly resulting in the locomotive shutting off just before passing the camera!

Very odd - the first morning train arrived 2L and departed 10L. So; no early arrival as has been reported, but a late departure, which may have caused delay. Did the signaller not clear p19's starter on time? Confusing. I also see from RTT that Windsor side trains were running late way before 61306 appeared, and that nothing used p19 anyway for 20 minutes after the steam departed! Perhaps NR doesn't even know what happened, or have chosen to make the steam a scapegoat, albeit with the admission of "human error"!?

I guess it is called the Sunset Steam Express because the sun has already set by the time you get to the scenic part of the journey

You don't need the scenic part of the journey. Listen to this soundtrack as the B1 hauls 10 and an idling 47 up the gomshall bank,

The sun was on the front of Mayflower in mrKnowwun’s video;).

Previous comment deleted as I changed my mind about which way the train was heading and then changed it again. Starting again.

Something was illuminating the headboard very strongly in that video, but if the train was heading east it can't have been the sun.

I would have thought the lights for the crossing and then the station lights were the cause of the effect.
Similar brief example on 73082's video at Reigate.
I would agree, must most "normal" passengers I suspect would like to be able to view the scenery. Still optimistic to hope to get out of Waterloo at 18:00, so I guess this is what you end up with.

Check Mr K’s video again. 0.24 to around 0.50 before it reaches the level crossing. That damn great orb is definitely stuck on the front of Mayflower, it’s the high intensity headlight.

Not many paying customers on board from what I could see in Mr K's video. I wonder how successful these trains are. The only reason I can really think of is that I've never done a trip with Mayflower (strange but true). Like many on this forum Steam Dreams in not my first choice for steam railtours these days.

Two reasons to doubt that. The headlight should be shining ahead, not upwards. And the bright lighting on the headboard seems to fade out as the train gets close.

    Oh I give up.
    Watch the video again.
It’s the high intensity headlight I’m referring to.
What I thought was a light hearted comment has turned into a Nat Pres debate!
Any takers for a debate about the colour of Mayflower.
Talking of a debate, I think the numbers on the cabside are a bit too big;).

I would book except for the very late finishing time. I could get home but not until after 0100 next day. It ought to be an hour earlier
