In the unfortunate absence of updates on UKSteam, could someone point me in the right direction for the timings of the Sunset Steam Express on Tuesday evenings, particularly the return route through South London pls? Thx in advance.

I've tried Real Time Trains but can't find anything.

David is in hospital following a fall, so the UK Steam site updates are ‘temporarily’ suspended. Hopefully he will make a full recovery

Yes, I was aware. That's why I asked the NP hive-mind. Also, I can't search on RTT very well!!

I thought I had posted to this thread yesterday but it's not here.

I was expressing surprise that this thread is the first I had heard of the existence of the Sunset Steam Express. It seems to be a SD operation, but marketed completely separately, with not even any link (that I can find) on the main SD website. While it's not that unusual for a company to use different names for different markets, in this case I would expect some overlap of customers.

It’s the same as The Royal Windsor Steam Express. No idea why, but Steam Dreams are promoting it via a separate website:

There are links to both on the SD home page under quick links.

You mean I rushed out last Tuesday to film the Sunset steam Express, and timed it so it was in the sunset, and you failed to notice? :Arewealone:

Can anyone shed light on reports in the Evening Standard, SWR twitter and ITV news that this morning's ecs arrival was early into Waterloo and this was to blame for many late SWR arrivals and an apology to commuters for the disruption caused. However RTT shows the ecs arrival 2 late although 5 early pass Latchmere which I guess may have caused a small problem but to point such a big finger at the B1 and the signaller is bit rough given SWR's performance every day. The ITV facebook redressed the balance somewhat with comments like only SWR could turn an early train into a delay.

One of the problems when you try and fit a steam special working into an intensive peak hour service. I’m surprised that NR let them do it

Understand, but looking at the arrivals in and around the time very little was delayed and only by a few minutes. A 30 mins delayed ex Reading started its journey late. All I’m saying is it seems a bit rich to publicly pile the blame on the steam being early which in the end may have backfired in that SWR itself become ridiculed. Even with the extra trains since the May t/t I would have thought the pressure would have been alleviated a little by the reopened Windsor/ Eurostar platforms.

As discussed on Steam Dreams thread all ECS moves were late not early.
It just looked like a usual shambolic day on SWR
