There was a maroon coach in Minehead yard earlier, at the same time that a maroon coach was in a train at Blue Anchor. Is this the previously alluded second coach for the new maroon set?

As a WSR PLC shareholder I had preliminary notification of the AGM and an appeal for the rail fund. Amongst all the paperwork I noticed that this years AGM is to be held at the Somerset County Cricket ground. This not likely to be very cheap compared the normal venue in Minehead. Has the WSR got some sponsorship to cover the cost?

Perhaps the normal venue in Minehead wasn't available for any of the dates they wanted for the AGM .
Nat Pres is probably not the place we'll get the answer, but we'll get some interesting suggestions and theories. :)

I just happened to catch this move on the webcams by chance today. Delivered from Williton by Class 33 with a chocolate and cream returned, presumably for repair and repaint.

Well as stated above it's too heavy, and being as 789 worked passenger trains only last month at the SVR gala I'm not sure it would be much of a draw, if sheds are your thing the MRC gala the same weekend as the WSR gala has 66066/136/431 & 623 (at least) attending

I really hope the WSR prove me wrong and get something to replace the 31

Possibly the Chairman is a member of the club and gets a discount. ;)

The maroon coach transferred from Williton to Minehead yesterday was BSK 35257, and is the second coach to be painted this colour. The chocolate and cream one going the opposite way was BG 80736 'Lorna Doone' and you presume correctly, for repairs and repaint.

There will be a replacement. But as alluded to by others earlier, it will mean less miles for the other locos. There's only so many trains available to haul on a 20 mile line.......(c.10 trains each way)

Maybe after the last year they are anticipating more people turning up to hear how things are being turned around. Taunton is obviously also easier to get to than Minehead. Didn't realise you were a Shareholder, you kept that quiet :p

Excellent choice of venue for those of us using public transport as it's walking distance from the railway station and not in the middle of the nowhere like the golf club used earlier in the year. It's also a better time of the year as the delays on the M5 will not be as severe as in June.

Ah, but it's in your sig, and no one reads sigs. :)

When I was working we had our department's opening hours in our sig which was on every e-email we sent, and we still got people e-mailing us back asking when we were open!

I think the smiley face on the OP's post would indicate that yes, your leg was being pulled...

Worth pointing out that if you browse the site on a mobile device, the signature is one of the bits of interface that is stripped away, at least on this site. Modern web page design adapts according to screen size; as screens get smaller, less significant parts of the content are removed to focus on the more important bits. So the message stays but the signature goes.

Just announced, a second Class 25 D7612 from the SDR has been secured to replace 31163 at the gala.
