    Hello alltogether,

one of the smaller narrow gauge railways which is currently under development is the schwarzbach railway.
A small but growing group of railway enthusiasts is currently trying to rebuild the railway line from Lohsdorf to Unterehrenberg. This year they made a good start. They've successfully built a wee Bridge over a little stream and 180m of "new" track. Official reopening and the first rides on the new stretch was last weekend. The train consisted of 2 vintage carriages (on loan from Zittau SOEG) and the rebuilt saxonian I K, which was the first class of steam locos on the saxonian narrow gauge network.
Although the current length is not very long ( about 400m) it will grow in the coming years a lot, because they are keen on moving ahead and getting as far as they can ( hopefully also one day through the beautiful nature reserve to Kohlmühle, which is currently blocked due to one person in the local administration...).

I wish good luck to them!

I saw quite a few photos of it on Facebook last week, but didn't realise it was a new line or that it was that short! Looks quite a tidy little set up.

    Progress in the East!
The Schwarzbachbahn is currently building an extension of 380 m towards Ehrenberg. They are currently highly motivated and welcome any visitor or interested person. The place is located in the scenic region of saxonian switzerland and is not far away from the marvellous city of Dresden. They are also actively restoring carriges.

Worth checking out when passing fits with a visit to the Kirnitzchtalbahn tram and the wonderful view of the railway along the Elbe loop from the Bastei above Rathen.
