In the interests of fairness, I must advise that Councillor Hodgson has replied! She has stated that she made no such comments to the press, and these comments must have been taken from a meeting that she attended. She did, however, state that she was unable to find the article on DevonLive that quoted her, and that without a link to it, she would be unable to comment further.

I have provided her with the link, together with the link to the report of the subsequent theft......

Any date for 1369's return to working order or is it still "work in progress"?

According to the South Devon loco roster it's their duty loco on the 7th of June and for most of the month! How many working locos does this leave the SDR with?

GWR pannier tank 1369 on driver experience trips today. An approx 1 mile run from Buckfastleigh for £11.11 (today only). A bargain at that price.

All in aid of the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal. Good luck to them. <BJ>

Chinnor or Battlefield Line, perhaps? SDR have a habit of hiring their locos to those lines in particular.

So the SDR this year will be ran by 1369, 5526 & 5542?

It's reported in SR that 5526 will spend the summer at the Battlefield Line. I don't think it would be unprecedented for the SDR to cope with 2 locomotives available.

Presumably with L92 back for the summer based on the dates on the link above, which would make sense and give a little cover

Usual practice is to retain two engines for the one train timetable increasing to three for the two engine timetable. It cannot be commercially justified to retain all five engines for the season.
