What I don't understand is why the WSRA is making virtually no effort into recovering 25% from the inland revenue for their donations. Must do better. No. Must do much better.

Anne- do drop me a line, we collect gift aid on every donation that we can. We have vacancies for people to do back office work like processing the data base and ensuring the gift aid is properly claimed if you are interested?

Indeed, just as I would have expected, having just made a donation towards the cost of a museum item. Incidentally, the organisation receiving the donation is at once a Charity, a membership organisation, owner of its freehold and equipment and statutory operating company. Don't let anybody tell you this is impossible.

What I don't understand is why you think this. I've recently donated to the rail renewal appeal and the gift aid box was very prominent.

Nah its subtle reference to ambitions beyond that buffer stop at the extreme end of the NF triangle...…………………...

According to the SVR Online Forum (and a post from someone whose information is reliable), the loco swap is from 22nd May to early October. So it might arrive today.

    Important information regarding Just Giving.
A few folks have told me they are having problems donating. Our GM has tracked this down to security isses for those using older MS Browsers and Operating Systems.
There is a means to report problems to Just giving here. https://help.justgiving.com/hc/en-us/articles/200670451-I-m-having-trouble-donating

Don't feel you need to buy a new PC to donate, just send in your donation by post to:

    West Somerset Railway Association
    The Railway Station
Bishops Lydeard, Taunton, Somerset TA4 3BX

Include your name and address if you want to ensure we can claim the gift aid. Also make sure you tell us which appeal you are donating to.

But do at least think about upgrading your operating system and software - if it's too old to work with some websites, it's probably lacking a whole host of security updates...don't make it easy for the bad guys!

Well, I thought there was a 'heritage' aspect to the letters. Obviously not.

Re WSRA/WSRPLC relationship wrt recent discussions re WSRA financial help to PLC

Following the recent Bluebell AGMs I quote the following circulated notes verbatim:

"The reconvened 58th AGM agenda was accomplished quite quickly.......

In response to a question it was emphasised that the Society did not borrow money,
only the PLC did that, further more as has been the case for many years, the
Society lent its surplus income from memberships and other donations to the
PLC on a monthly basis, with the figure being converted into PLC shares
(£500,000 of such conversion took place during 2018 )" END OF QUOTE.

The " Bluebell Railway Trust Governance and Management Regulations March 2018 "
are also I suggest of considerable interest. ( Downloadable from the Internet
