Aren't the BFB wheels being fitted to a new axle for 35011 from 34046, the 'unknown' wheels being on 34046?

....opens another question I have regarding balance weights on Bulleid wheels - are they part of the wheel casting or are they separate? Also, are the weights similar per wheel set between MNs and light pacifies in original and rebuilt conditions?

Just a quick one, Alex one of our volunteers put together this great compilation of the videos shot during the move.

Thanks for posting that video - it must have been a fantastic moment when 35011 moved again after so many static years. Also emotive to be greeted with a steam whistle at Blunsden, surely the start of a great new relationship which will recreate an iconic locomotive.

Swindon & cricklade seems like a good home for 35011. Possibly the biggest loco they've ever had as a resident.

Now the overhaul can crack on properly .

Not quite. Both MN Port Line and a BofB Class loco were there for a short while. I'm sure you're right about the overhaul of 35011.

Vote to help secure funds for GSNs new home

The General Steam Navigation Locomotive Restoration Society and the Swindon and Cricklade Railway need your votes to help raise funds towards the construction of the Barn. The Barn which currently houses our Merchant Navy class locomotive is currently under construction and gaining these funds would be a great help to ensure GSN will be completely undercover by the end of the year. In order to receive a grant of £1000 from the Ecclesiastical Insurance Company in their “12 days of giving” we need your nominations. Ecclesiastical Insurance each year donates significant sums to charities by distributing all their profits. This year they are undertaking a “Movement for Good” programme to give £1000 to each of 500 charities and a further £50,000 to each of 10 charities.

We are always pleased to receive your donations towards the restoration of General Steam Navigation, but here's an opportunity for you to contribute without needing to make a financial donation...

We’d be really grateful if you could nominate us in the Ecclesiastical Movement for Good awards.

It’s incredibly simple and easy to nominate us as you just need to:

    1. Visit www.ecclesiastical.com/movementforgood and click ‘Nominate now’

    2. Enter the S&CRs charity number 1067447 and it should confirm it’s the Swindon and Crickldate Railway.

    3. In the Charity type field select Heritage Arts

    4. Enter your details

    5. In the “Why are you nominating this charity?” section state that “The S&CR and GSNLRS need help to secure the long term future of one of Britains most important steam locomotives” or something similar along those lines

The closing date for nominations is Friday 17 May 2019. In order to be successful we need as many nominations as possible and would be extremely grateful if all our members and supporters took the time to nominate us. It only takes 2 minutes to complete the form and we’d appreciate our supporters help with this particular appeal.

    Thank you

@siquelme Nominated. Please note that form says that number 1067447 does not exist! I have checked and this is the correct number so why this happens is anyones guess.

How odd did you copy and paste it into the box? I just double checked the number and it seemed to work fine

No, it was not copy and paste, typed in. I don't know if it was accepted or not, there was no follow up or acknowledgement.

It seems to be for UK residents only. I shall ask family to nominate.
