Sorry if I have missed this discussed elsewhere but does the diesel that brings in the ECS to Paddington stay on the back all the way to Bristol? I can see no LE path back to Southall and the shadowing path from BTM starts from the same platform as the tour.

Can't find any paths for a WCR diesel to get to Bristol on the 26th or 27th; so looks like a bit of extra weight for the Duchess down the GWML.

Have to say that I'm ducking out of the first part of GBXII partly because of what seems to be the on-train attachment. No doubt that will be the cue for something good up through Wales and over Beattock!

On Day 1, the diesel remains on the rear to BTM, as there are no suitable spare paths; however, on Day 2, the diesel runs light directly from Plymouth to Taunton (path not uploaded yet).

Days 3 and 4 likewise - no diesel.

As usual, it seems that WC has worked hard to try and keep the GB as free from diesel as possible. Well done to all. It now just needs a bit of magic on Day 5 to Aberdeen although that magic wand is more in the hands of Network Rail, I believe.

Good news. It looks as if Big Al is to visit the west country after all. <BJ>

Thanks for that James, I had not expected to have any chance to see it so had not even looked at the plan, but the extreme weather forecast means I have unexpectedly been gifted a day rather than being an unpaid "roadie" for my wife's seafront craft stall.

Does anyone know the timings on the WSR on Sunday? Those on RTT are probably an estimate as they don't allow time for an engine changeover at Bishops Lydeard. I'm guessing the 7F will haul the train to Minehead. Also when is the stock moving back from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard/Norton Fitzwarren? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
