Postponed to 27th June and changed back to Swanage?
Might be interesting 'pathing' this tour on the Swanage Railway.
That day is currently scheduled to be a two train Green Timetable (train every 40 minutes).
Mondays or Fridays are Blue Timetable (train every 80 minutes) so much easier to accommodate.

Just had an email confirming the new date of 27th June, the train is now going to Weymouth with passengers for the Swanage Railway transferred by road coach from Wareham.

The new estimated times are now 6:00 from Chinnor and 22:30 return, the latter being by connecting CPRR train from Princes Risborough.

Not showing on SD's website. Presumably they're waiting to find out how many who booked for the original date can't make the new date.

Midday on Friday 3rd May is the deadline to let them know if anyone wants to change / cancel their booking; I would be surprised if there were no cancellations (I can't remember if the original train was fully booked?)

    Possibly - but guessing.
61306 Mayflower is scheduled to haul the special and there is likely to be a diesel on the back for the usual drag back from Weymouth to Southampton.
I wonder if 61306 might go to Chinnor overnight for coal/water top up ?

Since the Black 5 (44871) did the Windsor/Sunset trips yesterday does that indicate a problem with 61306 or is it that the latter was being kept "warm" or being serviced for tomorrow's visit to Weymouth? does anyone know?

Colleague of mine on a work course at the C&PR sent me a video of 61306 arriving into Chinnor this evening on the empties from Southall, so all being well should be the B1 tomorrow.

Just seen it. Was working on 0730 Bristol Padd, as it left Didcot. Heard a strong exhaust best and looked up and it was Mayflower coming round then curve off the Didcot Oxford line, bang on time. Looked superb.

Looking at that, she’s facing away from London. How have they got her the right way round for the trip to Weymouth?

Edit : I’ve sussed it now.

Indeed, and another reason for the diesel at the other end, at least for the run on the branch, but presumably staying there for the run from Weymouth.

They'll need banking assistance on the new chord from Bicester Town up to the Chiltern main line this evening, too. Think it will be the first steam tour in that direction.

And on Upwey bank. Looked nice at Totton running about 15 late as SWT all late again so ran through Soton Central without stopping and took water in the DGL then had to wait for a late running Weymouth
